I havent forgot this place...

I know its been a while since i have posted anything, but i have been a busy bbq guy! First off we are about half way done with our smoker builds they are an upright insulated cabinet build.
We have been pretty busy on the contest front as well, in our first ever KCBS competition in Benton,Ky we received our first call. We took a 5th place chicken out of a pretty tough field of competitors. In our second competition in Liberty,In we were pretty surprised in taking a 1st place rib and a 2nd place pork (we wont get into how our brisket and chicken fared) Our next competition will be in Jeffersonville, In on June 18th and 19th. I am having a local bbq cook help me out in the brisket area. He used to run TC's Memphis BBQ now he does catering. I am looking forward to the competition when we can get all the meats to hit on the same day and get a GC or RGC. Actually I will just be happy to finish in the top 1/3 of the field in the next few competitions.
Our competition sauces are completed and I just picked up the first 2 gallons and i am hoping that I will be able to bottle them and get them into stores soon along with my competition rub.

Updated comp list, and more

In addition to the competitions listed in the previous blog I think we (or I) am heading out to California for a competition on April 24,25 in Indio, California. I am also going to try and squeeze one or two more during the year I was looking at doing The Degaque event this year but funds would not allow it, so hopefully next year we can do that as well.
I got the approval of my local Health Department to get started on a mobile BBQ competition / vending trailer. It is not going to be anything big or fancy, looking at maybe a 7 x 14 i have found a few and the only problem i am having is that I am 6'4" tall, most trailers are either 6' or 6'6" I think i need a 7' trailer. We are also going to start working on the insulated smokers that we are going to build in the off season. More on those as we get started. I also have to go back for a final meeting for my BBQ Rubs to get them going with the bottling phase so I can sell them. We have alot on out plate, hopefully we can get it done before April!!!
